Early Life and Adoption

Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, in San Francisco, California, USA, to Joanne Schieble and Abdulfattah Jandali. As unmarried college students, they put him up for adoption. Paul and Clara Jobs, a working-class couple from Mountain View, California, adopted Steve when he was just a few days old.

Interest in Electronics and Education

During his early years, Jobs showed great interest in electronics, often working on projects and learning about mechanics in the garage. He attended Homestead High School in Cupertino, California, where he was described as intelligent but often bored by traditional education. Jobs enrolled at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, in 1972 but dropped out after just one semester due to financial strain.

The Founding of Apple

In 1976, Jobs, along with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, co-founded Apple Computer in the Jobs family garage. Their goal was to create and sell user-friendly computers. The Apple I was introduced as a rudimentary computer kit, followed by the Apple II in 1977, one of the first successful mass-produced personal computers. The Apple II featured color graphics and an accessible user interface.

The Introduction of the Macintosh

In 1989, the NeXT computer was introduced, showcasing advanced hardware and software technologies, including high-quality graphics. Although it did not achieve widespread success, its software became the foundation for Mac OS X.

Leadership at Pixar

Jobs bought the computer graphics division in 1989, which later became Pixar Animation Studios. Under his leadership, Pixar produced successful animated films such as “Toy Story,” “Finding Nemo,” and “The Incredibles.”

Return to Apple and Revitalization

In 2007, he unveiled the iPhone, which combined a phone, iPod, and internet communicator into a single device, setting new standards for smartphones. He launched the App Store in 2008 and popularized tablet computing with the introduction of the iPad in 2010.

Apple Retail Stores

Jobs also conceptualized Apple retail stores, creating a minimal and welcoming environment to showcase products and provide customer support.
