Building the world’s largest catalogue of dead celebrities by 2030
Why?
Ask someone to name their favourite celebrity from the past and you’ll often hear names like Michael Jackson, Donna Summer, Elvis Presley, Diego Maradona or Judy Garland.
Like you, we love musicians, actors, actresses and sports personalities. But our curiosity extends far beyond the entertainment world. We want to keep alive the memory of people who contributed enormously to humanity through science, art, technology, medicine, business and countless other fields.
There is something powerful about studying people who are no longer here. Their lives have been lived. Their successes and failures are there for us to examine. Their decisions, habits, beliefs and behaviours can be studied in a way that allows us to learn from the results they produced.
Jim Rohn, a pioneer of the personal development industry, communicated a core idea throughout his life: if you want to succeed at something — whether that means building a successful business, writing a book, creating wealth or designing the life you want — study the psychology, mindset and habits of people who have already achieved the results you want.
They have done it. And by studying how they did it, we can learn what might make it possible for us too.
That is the thinking behind CelebrityLegacyHub. Our ambition is to create the world’s largest repository of past celebrities and notable figures, documenting their lives so that we can identify the psychology, behaviours, patterns and factors that underpin extraordinary human accomplishment.
Both sides of the spectrum
But there is another side to this story. Our catalogue also includes some of the most destructive and evil people who have ever lived — from Hitler and Stalin to serial killers and other individuals responsible for profoundly terrible acts.
Why? Because understanding humanity means looking at both sides of the spectrum. If there are patterns and stages that contribute to extraordinary achievement, could there also be patterns that contribute to human evil? What happens when ambition, intelligence, personality, environment and behaviour develop in a profoundly different and wrong direction?
We want to look under the rug of human behaviour — to examine what drives people towards greatness, influence and lasting legacy, as well as what can lead towards evil.
“The human heart by default is desperately wicked. And if you don’t think so, open a newspaper.”
You were not created to be average
If you’re interested in the lives of great people from the past, you’re probably interested in more than history. You want to understand the results they produced, the choices they made, the challenges they overcame and the impact they had while they were alive.
And perhaps, most importantly, you’re thinking about your own life. You’re interested in what makes people exceptional, because you have a longing to live an exceptional life.
You care about the results you produce, the impact you have while you’re here and the legacy you will leave behind. CelebrityLegacyHub exists to help you explore these ideas and wrestle with profound questions of life and legacy.
