Early Career and Influences

Eddie Guerrero’s wrestling journey began in Mexico, where he performed under the ring name Mascara Magica. His early matches showcased his talent and dedication, quickly earning him recognition in the local wrestling scene. Seeking to expand his career, Eddie moved to Japan, adopting the persona of Black Tiger II. Competing in Japan exposed him to a different style of wrestling and honed his technical abilities, setting the stage for his later success.

Rise in Major Promotions

After establishing himself internationally, Guerrero made his way to the United States, where he joined some of the biggest wrestling promotions in the world. He wrestled for Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment (WWF/E). Despite his professional successes, Eddie’s personal life faced significant challenges. He battled drug and alcohol addiction, which severely affected his health. In 2001, he experienced a near-fatal heart attack, a wake-up call that forced him to take time off from wrestling. Determined to reclaim his life and career, Guerrero made a triumphant return to WWE a year later, quickly becoming one of the most popular wrestlers on the roster.
